Last week, we celebrated Field of Glory with our first-ever Field of Glory day.

Of course, this meant that I also wanted to show another Field of Glory mod and what better than to show off the Ancient Greek mod by Gabe? It’s got all the improvements that Dark Ages of Britain has, plus some more rules and mechanics that show the chaos of the time period.

Often, your taste might not be exactly aligned with the game you are playing, even if you otherwise really enjoy it. I think what Ancient Greeks shows is, if you prefer your games to be more or less random, more or less historical, there is likely a mod out there that shares those preferences with you. Even introducing all-new mechanics into the mix, such as the anarchy system.

In the mod, the Anarchy system tries to simulate generals and even units thinking they know best. This means they can refuse orders, or charge off into the distance after glory and kills, much to your cost. But this kind of thing can and did happen, making for a very engaging (and sometimes very frustrating) experience that would never make it into mainstream balance.
